CHAINED PRISONER
I am chained
I am a prisoner
How can I escape from your clutches
Your love was dishonour
If you remained
I could be freed by the touches
Of your love
You have found
Another face to love
And so these bands of steel embrace
My heart all tight around
Heaven above
Grant me strength to remove the trace
Of your love
Gone for ever
Mutual felt feelings
Of loving supreme on this planet
I shall endeavour
In my doings
To subdue all the loss and regret
Of your love
But you’re there
Awaking or dreaming
Your memory lingers and chills me
I am a prisoner
In these chains I shall never be free
Of your love
