A poem by: Ben Dunk. December 1990.
CHRISTMAS TIMES PAST
When the wine flowed
Around the family table
And the laughter belled
About the ripe old fable
All cooled the time
To nod the loving ways
On the road to make rhyme
Of caterpillar days
Those were Christmases
To remember always
For the special passes
And ambience of son’s rays
Oh! Regression where are you?
What are your options dear?
The knowledge that is true
Or, relationship’s to fear?
And:
So, in that garden filled
With plants of every hue
How are they so thrilled?
And never to clash imbue!
I’d love to re-traipse the lane
And sense those trips again
But there is only a passing train
Accelerating to the main
WHO WAS HE?
