He or She?

GONE

He has gone,

I don’t know why it happened that way

I only know the dooms here to stay

Until my man returns to his place

I freeze in my chair with tears on my face

My mind sends out a beacon all round

Longing to know whether he’s found

Gestures of love as I only know

I never thought fate would deal me this blow

My heart grows cold its light has gone out

No longer can I sing and shout

Just quivering lips show all the loss

Of one who meant more than I’ve come across

Please God send him home or I shall die

Why was it I told him such a lie

I regret that I had my own way

There are so many things I meant to say.
