THE LIE
The lie glibly rolled off the tongue
And flew out side into the open
Where it connected quickly with some
Who embellished it worse there-upon
Then the fresh lie spun out of control
Passing from one to another free
And reaching swiftly from pole to pole
Until maximum hyperbole
It imprisoned some people falsely
Gave some very bad reputations
Made friends treat one another harshly
And confirmed unjust imputations
So do wretched evil blatant liars
Take fake talk secretly to their grave
Hide it in the thickest brambly briars
Leaving their worst curses on the brave
Judges accept lies and adjudicate
Rolling eyes against munificence
Contradict evidence authenticate
So juries convict the innocents
Politicians lie on the stumps
They dream up their superlative views
Conning the believer into jumps
And deliver pork under their shoes
Police sometimes do distort the facts
Cover up favours for a criminal
Change evidence by nefarious acts
And present cases subliminal
Spouses lie to cover up their tracks
Concealing their infidelities
When lying prone on their face and backs
Circumventing true identities
Pulp and airwave news reporters lie
When opportunism is there to try
Plagiarism is fain to embody
And the reader seldom knows the fie
The loose lie roamed around and then spread
And over many years developed
Generating circumstances dead
And causing truth to be enveloped
There are the poor-tragic receivers
Spending their dark days in maladies
Living lives of under achievers
Ashamed of their untrue parodies
They exist on memories miss-said
Created and applied to be cruel
Suffering from words unjustly read
The liar’s victimization fuel
Falsehoods accumulate and then fester
Malfeasance stays in mind forever
Misrepresented facts they pester
Life and freedom suffer together
The whole truth is a wonderful thing
Research, interpret and verify
It outclasses every cruel sting
Let the world know and exemplify
